The Leftovers Foundation is one of Western Canada’s largest food rescue charities with a dual mission of reducing food waste and increasing food access through community mobilization. Their goal is to ensure edible food is kept out of the landfill and instead is redirected into the hands of those who need it most. They are always looking for more help! 

GVFB rescues safe, quality food from businesses such as farms, food wholesalers, large chain distribution warehouses, retail stores and grocers. Their website mentions the food donations encouragement act, which states that people CAN NOT GET IN TROUBLE FOR DONATING FOOD IN GOOD CONSCIENCE! People get turned off of the idea of donating because they're worried that they'll get sued if someone gets sick from eating their donation. The food donations encouragement act ends that confusion!
